July 3 was another long day of driving from Salt Lake City, UT KOA to Ami’s Acres near Glenwood Srpings, CO. This leg was another part of our push to make the Vail, CO area for the 4th of July. Arriving a day early to the area, we were so thankful that that Ami’s Acres could work us in because everything was booked up for the holiday.
Once the camper was setup we headed in to Glenwood Springs to hang out. While there we enjoyed watching several locals surf the Glenwood Wave which is a standing wave on the Colorado River.

It is a natural portion of the river but I”m not sure if boulders have been moved to help shape the wave.

Hi, it is amazing how many fascinating places you saw on the trip. Am particularly interested in the river surf. Its natural not man made, right?
