Yosemite 6/30

Yosemite National Park was another highlight of the trip and somewhere we wished we had more time to explore. Since we booked at the last minute we stayed at Yosemite Pines RV which is 30-40 minutes away from Yosemite’s entrance. It wasn’t a bad drive but you have to add another 30 from the Yosemite gate until you get in to the valley area.

This was one of my favorite sites as I’ve become obsessed with climbing videos and documentaries. The one I watched before we started the trip was Dawn Wall so stopping to see El Cap was a must. Near the base they had two park ranger/climbers that were answering questions and had some equipment on display. You can watch Dawn Wall free on Netflix ( https://www.dawnwall-film.com/). Another good one is Hillary on PBS about the first guys to climb Everst ( https://www.pbs.org/program/hillary/ ).

After checking out the visitor center we did a small hike to the base of a waterfall and saw a young bear sitting on a limb just off the path. Several park rangers were in the area keeping an eye on things.

A little water in the parking lot.
Enjoying the falls after a short hike……
…with 100 of our closest friends.
Our official guide striking a pose. Just as often as he gets mad he will also do something hilarious so it creates a good balance.
Dina and I kept jumping out trying to find the overlook where you can see the 3 main Yosemite features at the same time. Not sure if this is it or not!
