Grand Canyon – 6/18

They Grand Canyon did not disappoint. It is certainly a “you have to see it to believe it” destination but it is so expansive that it doesn’t even look real. I cannot image how the younger kids are processing what they are seeing as their reference would be the creek bed in our Apex, NC back yard! What they seem to be most impressed by is how far you can see.

We visited the north rim because it was closest to our base camp in Kanab, Utah. North rim was very laid back and we did the easy hike to Bright Angel point and back.

The drive from Kanab to Grand Canyon was 1.5 hours so Dina and I let Charlie and Grace run the show. Having a third driver is huge on a trip like this.

Our little ranger wasn’t as enthusiastic about the hike as we were!

The other direction at Bright Angel…and yes I need to learn how to take panoramic pictures.
Standing on top of the Bright Angel survey marker and yes this is a “:gust of wind and you are toast” type of point.
