Four Corners, Antelope, Kanab – 6/17

Today was a traveling day and we could not resist the opportunity to drive an hour out of the way to see the Four Corners monument. Four Corners is the only point in the US that you can stand in four states at once (demonstrated by Benjamin below). With all of this significance, all that mattered to William and Benjamin is that they would have the opportunity to drink an Arizona in Arizona. The Arizona Arnold Palmer tea has become their latest splurge drink.

From Four Corners we drove to Antelope Canyon which is a slot canyon on Navajo land. This is a small attraction but incredible to see how wind and rain formed this under ground feature. They said it floods 7-10 times per year which raises and lowers the floor around 3 feet.

Our final destination was JJ RV park in Kanab, Utah which would be our base camp to visit the surrounding parks including Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion.

With roughly 14 people waiting to take a picture here I had to bribe him with a dollar to get him to pose. I’m probably up to $8-10 with all the photo bribes.
A 5 week road trip to see some of the most incredible spots in the country and his defining moment was having an Arizona in Arizona. (I’m sure they make 20 flavors of tea but they think Arizona means the Arnold Palmer only)
Since we are driving a Ford Excursion every sighting is grounds for celebration. It is rare to see them in the Raleigh area but out here there are many. Each Antelope Canyon tour company had different vehicles to take visitors up the river bed to the slot. This group had all Excursions.
Here we are walking with our guide from the parking area to the slot.
Entrance to upper Antelope Canyon.
This is where the rain would enter the slot and flow through to where we were parked.
No frills RV park but almost brand new and very clean. The kids had a great time skateboarding and riding their bikes on the paved area.
